Personal data in safe hands

With its 5.000 employees, Van Oord offers unique solutions for land reclamation and the construction of ports and waterways all over the world. An international company like this exchanges a huge amount of personal data. For example to give local project managers access to relevant information about employees. Or to arrange tickets and visas.

Van Oord wants that personal data to be in safe hands. TinQwise created an online compliance training course that makes all employees GDPR-proof.

Know what you’re doing...

Some time ago, the head office formulated the company’s data protection policy. Which is clear, but also very abstract and legally oriented. We translated the rules into understandable language for the target group. But just knowing the rules isn’t enough. It’s also important that Van Oord’s employees comply with those rules.

Know what you’re doing...

And do what you know...

The policy rules really only come to life when employees are given relevant examples from their own work. Storytelling makes an important contribution to the learning effect. That’s why we created life-like practical cases in strategic locations. Followed by the question: ‘What would you do?’ So that employees are aware of where the GDPR affects their work and make the right choices.

And do what you know...

Everybody compliant

In the examples, we zoom in on how your choices and behaviour affect your colleagues. The protection of personal data has nothing to do with vague regulations and has all to do with being able to trust your colleagues to do the right thing – also in your interests. Van Oord can only guarantee that personal data is in safe hands when everybody joins in.
