On a digital journey to leadership
A multinational with employees from many countries wants to train all of its high potentials worldwide in the area of leadership. Meet 'Voyage', an online leadership program in which managers nominate high potentials in their team to go on a 9-month journey. Before they leave, they are assessed. Because Voyage is not about having to do something but wanting to do it. During the voyage, the participants develop their personal skills and management skills.
Voyage was developed as part of a special joint venture. Between Gaia Insights as an expert in talent and leadership programme development and us as experts in creating an online journey. With the highlight being a virtual classroom session every two weeks. This is a very interactive session that closely resembles a live session due to the structure, the interactive working methods and the facilitated breakouts.
But Voyage is also a platform that is open 24/7. So that you can react (both formally and informally) whenever you want. And you can replay the virtual classroom sessions at any time – for example while on the road. That way you can learn whenever it suits you.
From managers in Japan to HR professionals in Argentina: There are Voyagers all over the world. All of them career-minded people who are actually each other’s rivals but will never meet. Voyage brings them together and teaches them not just how to develop their skills as leaders. Voyage is also about work-life balance and the ability to lead under pressure.
Thanks to the set-up in Jumps (short learning bites), Voyage fits in the busy lives of these professionals. And they can develop their skills without having to spend all their time on it.
We bring a group of people together who have never met and most probably never will. Due to the enormous diversity of participants, the programme is intercultural and offers plenty of space for everybody’s personal context. With the aim of creating one leadership language.
We do this by getting the participants to learn from their own experiences and from each other. For example by holding online discussions. But also by getting participants to record their own issues and feedback in a journal so that they can discuss them during the live sessions.
Voyage is aimed at changing behaviour. But that’s not easy. So how do you achieve that? We do it by structurally offering small bites of subject matter over a longer period. You spend 30 days on one theme and the whole programme takes 9 months.
And it works! The results are measured every month in an engagement survey. The average score? 8.1 out of 10.
