How to train large groups of senior managers all across the world in leadership, and how to ensure that they embrace the vision, values and working method of Interxion?
In collaboration with Libre Foundation, we developed the 'L.E.A.D. Programme', a blended leadership programme consisting of an online platform and four physical training days.
L.E.A.D. Programme is a well thought-out blended learning course. For a whole year, a group of senior managers from all over the world goes through this learning programme, in which online assignments are alternated with four training days in the Netherlands.
L.E.A.D. is short for Lead by example, Engage your team, Accomplish your goals, and Dare to develop.
In the L.E.A.D. Programme, the managers are the captains of their own teams. They set the course and lead the team. The metaphor of sailing is used throughout the programme. The four chapters are called stages, like the stages in a sailing race.
Learning from each other
The group you take the training course with as a senior manager is called a cohort in InterXion. In the year in which you take the training sessions together, you work as a group and learn from each other. The online platform has been set up to help. You do the assignments together as a group and exchange experiences. You can ask your cohort questions and respond to messages from others.
The L.E.A.D. Programme is built on the basis of the 5E instruction model. Each E in the 5E model represents a learning phase: Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate. The dashboard of the online platform has been set up in such a way that it responds to these five aspects. The photos and social elements encourage the group of managers to get started. The modules are focused on explaining, developing and evaluating the subject matter.
