What does the Institute of Tropical Medicine do?
Because everyone has the right to a healthy life, the ITM is constantly striving for scientific progress in tropical medicine and public health.
In addition to advanced scientific research, training and a broad range of medical, scientific and social services are also part of the ITM’s core tasks.
You can imagine that it is crucial for ITM staff members to correctly adhere to GDPR requirements and data protection. ITM therefore enlisted the help of TinQwise, who helped them get these GDPR rules as concrete and comprehensible as possible into the minds of ITM employees.
Compliance made fun!
Modular and tailored
For the medical personnel, the researchers and administrative staff, TinQwise developed 5 interactive e-learning modules. Within these modules, the employees learn all about GDPR regulations, data protection, phishing and data breaches. Very specific to the ITM context are the modules on GDPR in research and medical practice, which are intended for specific target groups.
A 'healthy' mix of theory and practice
To present the learning materials in an organised way, TinQwise developed the modules according to a fixed structure.
In the ‘learning chapters’, the ITM staff learn the tricks of the trade, after which they can consult a whole set of useful documents, templates and links in the 'Useful documents' chapters, which help them to apply the GDPR rules in practice.
Serious topic, fun working methods
We kept the design of the e-learning modules clean, but came up with a lot of fun working methods. The ‘Are you hooked?’ self-test, for example, to discover how susceptible you are to GDPR traps, or the ‘conversation simulator’ with which you discover privacy dilemmas in a lifelike way. Will you be fooled?
