Ageas is an international insurance company with branches all over Europe and Asia. They provide millions of retail and business customers with life and non-life insurance.
Ageas is amongst the market leaders in most of the countries they operate in. In Belgium Ageas is the number one insurer.
In 2016 Ageas launched its Ageas Academy: through this initiative they seek to strengthen employee skills and competencies. The main target audience is senior management. Recently though, Ageas decided to expand their curriculum with a course on ‘The basics of insurance’.
The goal of the e-learning is to introduce the growing number of non-insurance specialists to the basic principles of insurance in an efficient and effective way. The target audience encompasses about 800 people worldwide, made up of both senior and middle management.
Ageas was looking for a way to reach this international audience as efficiently as possible. Together with Ageas, TinQwise developed ‘Gear Up’: an online learning module on the basic principles of insurance and the financial value chain. The e-learning contains about 100 minutes of content spread out over several chapters, including a quiz to gauge their initial insurance knowledge and familiarize them with the content.
The decision to choose an online module brought with it a number of important benefits: employees are not required to travel to attend the course, it improves the onboarding process and Ageas can offer its employees a flexible learning environment that gives them the freedom to explore the module at their own pace.
